Hearing Examiner

The Hearing Examiner is a professional hired by the City of Ridgefield to conduct public hearings on land use and development applications in the City of Ridgefield. The Hearing Examiner is required to have knowledge and experience of local and state land use law, the Washington State Growth Management Act, the State Environmental Policy Act, the Shoreline Management Act, and other applicable state regulations. The Hearing Examiner is required to have demonstrated experience in conducting public hearings in accordance with state and local requirements. The Hearing Examiner is not allowed to hold an elected or appointed office or position in city government.

The Hearing Examiner conducts public hearings, prepares written record and issues a final decision on changes in zoning designation, preliminary plat requests conditional use permit requests, variance approval requests, appeals of administrative decisions and code enforcement and dangerous building matters.
